It is time to rethink the last rest

We are ready - and we think you should be too

If you ask someone who is at the end of their life what kind of funeral they want, the answer will most often be: "a traditional one". But what is according to tradition can also be challenged and changed, right? As far as grave monuments are concerned, nothing innovative has happened since the end of the 19th century - when the change went from iron crosses to tombstones... We wish to challenge your thinking. Does the choice of tombstone have to come at the expense of the desire for a positive impression and a sustainable future? Heavy transport and the use of limited resources such as drinking water is a problem that can be solved. Reuse of steel, stone, and other materials should be easy to decide on today. In order to lead the way to a new afterlife, we have decided to take action on the environmental challenges and become the world's largest contributor to sustainable burial grounds. That's why we are now launching Vannstein - the world's most sustainable tombstone!

Our innovation is based on 3 challenges and solves 3 problems

It is a waste of scarce resources to use drinking water to irrigate grave sites!

Increasing water demand follows population growth, economic development and changing consumption patterns. The global demand for water has increased by 600% in the last 100 years. The UN's sustainability goal number 6 is to ensure sustainable water management, access to water and good sanitation for all.

A heavy-weight problem is that there is too much heavy-weight transport and too little reuse!

Water stones from Rip Eco are 10X better for the environment than buying and using existing gravestones. Transport in the hundred-kilo class has been replaced with transport in the ten kilos class.

Transport from quarry to producer with large vehicles from global to local supplier has a significant impact on the environment through greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide CO2, methane CH4 and nitrous oxide N2O.

Shipping headstones to local storage and handling and so on to the cemetery also requires several heavy-duty transports.

Since existing headstones weigh hundreds of kilos, even a short move back to the local studio for repainting or adding text (e.g. spouse dies) requires heavy-duty transport.

Finally, millions of tons of consumed headstones are moved to their own burial ground (for headstones). Too few care about recycling.

Preventing accidents is good for both your night's sleep and your wallet

Every year, both animals and people are injured or killed after being hit by falling headstones. Tragic for families and communities, followed by claims for compensation to the local authority and grave owners.

Every year, both animals and people are injured by overturned gravestones. As a responsible grave owner for an unsecured gravestone, you may be required to be responsible for control and security, a cost of up to EURO 2,000.
